Guidelines of House of Wands

• House of Wands does not and will not ask or pressure individuals into a membership. There can be and are reasons for some individuals to remain unaffiliated with guilds and Groups. These individuals hold no office nor are they moderators. They do not vote. They are simply Friends of the House of Wands.

• Toons on channel are considered seperate individuals.One toon as member does not make all of a persons toon’s members. There are a couple of immediate reasons. Some toons choose to work to gether in a storyline that parrallels  but does not change NG’s SL this makes it easier for that sl toon to remain in character when they are played. Some SL toons within the guild are always in character Myself among them. Some officers wish it not be known that another of their toons is a Friend, voting member etc. It give them down time out of the limelight and hopefully will prevent burnout.

• Profanity masked or otherwise is strictly forbidden and follows with the same profanity rules of formal Realm Owned Channels. This includes masking. ie sh*t. You will be warned and if you decide to continue you will be kicked from the channel.

• Talk of drugs and alcohol are innapropriate in channel. Though parties at the Guild Tavern is different. Let’s think like adults.

• Sexual harrassment towards either gender is defined as continuing to pursue a toon after he or she has said No. Repeated (3) kicks and you will be banned from the channel and only allowed back in IF both parties and a senior office holder have talked together, one room, one conversation. A pending situation is not to be discussed on channel and is discouraged strongly elsewhere. It allows a cooling off period and keeps Drama off the channel. Either party can refuse such a 3 way conversation. If one is agreed on nothing  goes beyond thse three toons . Sexual harrassment and Harrassment of children are bannable infractions. Without moderation there will be NO lifting of a ban.

• Guild hunts are encouraged how ever the spoils of the hunt are agreed on how it will be split among players. The Guild does not ask members for a part of the take at any time. Donations to the Guild are decided by any individual toon. At the time they feel they are able to afford to donate toward games chanting etc. There are no ‘dues’.

• The channel can not be held 24/7 some isp servers simply shut down. If there is a silent moderator (do not turn busy on or the moderation privleges are lost) may very well be asleep. Respect this.

• If a fellow Guild member is in trouble hunting and you are able at the time to assist them in recovering lost items replacing a team member in a cave please do so.

• What is said in channel is expected to stay there. gossip and backstabbing in channel or off contributes to strife and Drama. If you feel uncomfortable in a situation and there is no moderator please write to TempleBell. A good rule of thumb is to never say something about any other person you are not willing to say to their faces.

• Name calling is a personal attack. Petty gossip is an attack. Ask yourself before you type how you would feel if you were the other person.If you decide you do not care at all please remove yourself from the situation you are in and rethink things. Flaming is an attack.

• Guild colors are optional except for official meetings or visits to other guilds by senior staff. In all other situations where clothing HoW has no stock in Hanes or Victoria’s Secret. All flesh toned clothing is a fad that goes in and out use your own discretion.

• Donations are needed for mana for chanting, prizes and being able to afford to replace an item. NO Guild chanter will Chant for you what can not be insured. A simple no I can’t cover that should end the conversation. Know before hand what you want chanted on any particular item and educate yourself on both mana costs and on the chant sucess rate tables.

• Never post an event or game on another Guilds channel without prior, hopefully written, consent from that Guilds leadership.

• Some players are 14 and younger remeber that.

• Lastly these are Guidelines not laws there are no Guild police or spies. Act in the way you wish t be treated speak as you hope to be spokenwith. There is another human being on the other side of your screen.

• Beyond the normal how is it going and such things try to keep conversation light. Or take i to tells. HoW is not a support group.

• You represent your House wherever on Realm you are.

Customer Disservice

Each time I become tempted to walk away from Realm Online it is over customer service. For many months I have struggled merely to recieve an answer from them. They say that my banks accused hem of double billing. My bank charged me service charge on 5 disabled accounts and told me repeatedly that they released the funds to NG’s billing peole last November. Realm demands 2 months payment on 5 accounts.

Now I really do not care about billing, the bank and related stuff. I am WILLING to pay those 2 months on 5 accounts simpy to get at  now priceless items and 1k and high level toons I miss terribly. I have written countless times to get a snailmail addy by e-mail and by their handy dandy cs support form on their site. I do not even get an automated response.

Now I have a deeper issue here. My hunting partner is so sick of waiting and so sick of me trying to explain that I have now got a badly damaged real life relationship, I have been called a liar repeatedly.

Now, not only has NG affected my satisfaction as a customer they have damaged a real life relationship to the point of unrecognizability say nothing of honor and credibility.

If and when I finally egain my accounts will my toons and  gear be intact? If so I become wealthy over night. If not furher damage happens to the relatinship but so does any of my good feelings about a game that I have loved for years. Macavity

Where does the name ‘House of Wands’ Come from?

The name House of Wands was chosen, for the most part, because of a long overdue promise made to a beloved friend. In my Bram incarnation, my first guild affliation was to the now gone, Lords of Legend. That guild had 4 Houses. The magical or chanting  House was called The House of Wands. Soon after I became a member the leadership and membership faced many and far reaching challenges. The lady of the House of Wands chose me as her second in authority. When it began to become clear that the Guild would fold I promised the lady that even if the Lords of Legend folded. The House of Wands would either survive in some form or be made as a new and seperate entity. I do my best not only to keep my word to the best of my ability, disapointing a lady hurts me. I loved Her, that house, and the folk who were there.

The initils HoW are not entirely coincidental. How to play the game with enjoyment and skill is asked over and over. The preamble is most often: ‘How do I…’

Our affliation with Mabon the God of Magicis understandable because in many traditions wands as symbols are always magical. Our guilds role playing (parallel to Realm SL) also holds its own magical components.
